After failing twice at getting the shortened throttle cable I set about making the standard one fit.

Next up is exhaust system replacement

Also found out mechanic that done the new head fitting put alternator belt on wrong way around, so spent ages tryin to get airbox etc out and still keep it tidy, no more squeaking now, shock!

Also fixes my major oil leak coming from

Nice update buddy, with regards to the throttle cable if you route it under the inlet through the gap it gives a lot of slack to the cable

Never seem to update this, anyway had abit of a set back on car now

First of all a few updates

Finally have an opel steering wheel, unmolestered

Shot of interior

I then had problems with alternator, Battery light come on whilst driving, and found belt frayed and knackered, on refitting no matter what I did the pulley failed on the chassis leg

After LOADS of messing about turn out lower bolt had worked its way out, because alternator thread had gone, so used nut and bolt and now its fine

After a massive rush to put everything back together after work ( as was going to car meet, I had torch light) finally got it driving, alternator was fine!

Then I noticed smoke This was about half hour after using torch for alternator, and it was no raining, I ghot out the car and discovered oil everywhere

So topped up and tried to make then 10 min journey home, (selfishly not even thinking about other road users I was not thinking straight and was in a massive panic. I got 2 mins down road and car cut out

I got a lift home, and called breakdown the next morning to get me home, depsite asking for a low loader thi turned up

He promptly put it away after seeing clearence I had already wanred him about, and I got a low loader

Got home discovered this

and then

After advice on here, I decided only way was bottom end rebuild, I had serious doubts about keeping car, but decided too.

Few pics of stripping the bay, to get it ready for Phillip

Battered rad

Wasnt a hole in my manifold which created huge blow was this

New sum should be here tomorrow, started clea ning a few bits too

This is the car as it stands

I don't know if you have, but make sure you clean the inside of that oil pickup very well, Any bit of metal will wreck it, Again.

Hope this actually goes to plan.
