American Sniper and Gone Girl = 8.5/10
Lucy = 5 as I fell a sleep towards the end as it got a little far fetched.

Just watched the Imitation game 9/10

Always like a clever true story, such a shame about Alan Turing in the end

Kinda weird as i drive through Bletchley nearly every week, and its the setting of one history's greatest turning points during the war...really should go in there one day

Watched Whiplash and Nightcrawler on the plane back from SA last night.

Both pretty good, but both quite weird. Seemingly both produced by Bold films which was a weird coincidence too.

Whiplash is the drumming film, actually thought it was really good, 8.5/10 - http://www.avclub.com/review/thrilling-whiplash-demolishes-cliches-inspirationa-210186

Nightcrawler 8/10 as well, further proving that Jake Gyllenhal is a great actor, always plays weird roles, always does them well. And he's got massive for his new film too

John Wick - 6.5/10 - An ok watch although the storyline has been done plenty of times before and feels typically "some old". Similarly, Reeves plays his character reasonably well but overall I'm not hugely convinced he was the person for it, the part seemed a bit below him.
However, what i thought ruined the film was the overuse off dodgy CGI, especially gun flashes and blood splatters; it made the film look particularly cheap and low budget.
Overall it's worth a watch but it's not as good as it should have been.

The Theory of Everything. 8/10

Got acting purely because he was doing more than just acting. Story makes you think and be grateful, I guess. Oh and good to know his todger still works

Wee Man (2013) 7/10

IMDB Blurb:

quote:
Based on the true life story of Glasgow gangster Paul Ferris. The film follows Ferris's life as a young boy growing up on the tough streets of Blackhill. After he suffered relentless bullying at the hands of a local gang "The Banks Brothers" who terrorized the local community and witnessing Police corruption, he soon learned to become a Lion and fight back. At The age of 16 the worm turned and Ferris quickly made a name for himself on the streets after single handily taking on and dispatching the gang he despised as a child. He is taken under the wing of Arthur Thompson "The God Father" and soon rises up the ranks only to be bitterly betrayed by the people he respected and trusted. The lines are drawn and Glasgow's most notorious Gangland War in it's history is about to erupt
