People who say they get Donnie Darko are trying too hard to look cool

My Mrs probably liked it more than me! Thought it was a great idea, beautifully shot, not over the top and with a great soundtrack and of course.... Most importantly......

its not a case of not being immersed.. yes its different and i appreciate what it is.. but i want to watch a film that i enjoy.. thats the whole point is it not?

drive wasn't anything special in the way of a storyline..its certainly worth a watch but i wouldnt watch it again.. i thought it was just a bit boring, there was no substance to the movie there was just something missing.. the story kept giving you tastes of all sorts of different angles it could of used, driver for bank robbers, nascar driver, hard man who likes to stamp on peoples heads.. when i watch a film i like to feel connected and immersed in what is going on, i just didnt feel this with drive. when it finished i just thought wtf have i just watched.. maybe i downloaded the wrong version of something.. the fact that there was no dialogue in the majority of the scenes didnt bother me at all.. the small bits of action were ok and the driving scenes were pretty cool but it just lacked something. If you watch the trailer you litterally have seen all the best bits.

I liked pans labyrinth for example and i know a lot of people wouldnt give that the time of day.

i thought drive angry was crap and i also HATE transporter 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 etc i think they are shite and F&F films are a different style of film altogether and i didnt expect drive to be anything like them.
