Yes, I am sure ILM toned down on the special effects, when they worked on Super 8 to not make it surpass their work in Dark Of The Moon...

DOTM looks fantastic, but to say the CGI in Super 8 is below par is plainly moronic.

Fair enough if you didn't like the movie, but the visuals are top shelf.

yeah, ive not seen any of the originals. its a prequel so theres no need to see the last one apart from to understand the concept of the films.
