Really leaning towards an ipad 2 now.

I think i may be able to repair this laptop now, so i could have both, but its not a defo repair

I thought it needed a screen, but found out earlier u can get the hinge bit separate.

Just gotta find somewhere who sell them. It's a packard bell hgl1

It's a packard bell Hera g. The same hinges are on a mh36 model. I've found a set but they well expensive.

Part no on it is Szs-pe1-L

I'm in a similar situation to you Dan, the hinges on my Dell are going but it doesn't help when I pick it up by it's screen off the floor

For Ł600 you can get a new Dell Inspiron 15R with office basic (word, excel, powerpoint and one note)... otherwise it would be Ł538!

I was also looking @ Ipad2's and tbh I can't justify buying one of those over a new laptop!

Acer 8930g is what I use never had any problems with it apart from the pup chewed the charger

Well i got so pissed off with my old one today, i have been to tesco and splashed out on a dell inspiron m501r.

Bloody great deal, as my sis in law works there so save Ł40! Got it for 360 instead of 400.

Seems a great spec and it look really nice as well.
