As you may have read on Facebook, I nearly bought a Corsa C the other day.

Then the guy decided to scrap it and got £170, which I clearly would have beaten.

It was a 51 plate but other than that I knew nothing about it.

Anyway, still looking, found this -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110635405102

Quite clearly dodgy, no key, no V5. Just done a HPI and it's Cat D as well

It is the correct colour though. And it's kind of local. Quandary.

Could be, or it could be a ringer based on a crashed ID and it was less hassle to steal a non-bent one.

Might be a cheap car or might be hotter than ketchup on a toasted sandwich, I'm not clear.

No to use when the Puma isn't permitted, ie TVL.

It's a bit of a promotion tool if I'm honest, a newer Corsa representing CS.

A newer Corsa to show that CS isn't just about Bs...

GSi wouldn't do that job.

I've also got a Vectra GSi and I could get another Corsa/Astra GSi if that isn't fixed in time but I also want to address the newer Corsas issue.

Ian, that's dodgy as fuck

Just reading the ad, it's so poorly written - until you reach all the red writing which is where the money aspect comes in

They are also a shop that sells VW parts, but say they have no idea about cars at all and won't be able to discuss anything?

I wouldn't go near it with anybodys bargepole tbh.

Not sure whether it's worth a trip to Leicester to check the VINs, you can do it on that check thing.

Don't know yet, something cheap.

It'll just be stripped out and bodgy, nothing too special.

Id bet its a "certain type" of person selling it if its in leicester and its deffo dodgy

if you are gonna get it home, take it off the road and butcher it for track use then why does it have to be legal?

Cat D, no key, MOT or tax are largely unimportant.

But I don't want to buy a ringer that I would lose if it ever came to light, or pay someone money for having stolen the car.

Promoting the site with an illegal car isn't a great idea.

It won't have number plates on as it'll be stickered up and trailered there, so technically difficult to tell, it's more for my own personal protection and not spending hundreds of pounds on something that isn't worth that.

because everyone watching a white corsa C track car on a track with no plates on it and most of its guts chopped out is going to go ooooo thats stolen

I was thinking the bentness would be the only thing putting Ian off, and probably the moral aspect

I dont have morals

The fact he would be making £400 for doing something I could do for free bothers me more
