Couldnt agree more, makes that last stud behind the power steering pump a hell of alot easier aswell

Greg, the parts of the cage that are there came to £350 delivered. I still need about 10 metres or so of straight CDS to make the rest of it up, which Ste apparently paid £200 for but it would seem Custom Cages do 1.5 metre lengths so I could get 10.5m off them for £120 plus delivery so that should hopefully be cheaper if they can get it to us without too much delay although after waiting 6 weeks for that little lot above, I have my doubts.

Tom that sounds like a plan, nice one.

After more searching for a toffee wheel today, I've found somewhere that can get them

Shame they want £13+VAT and it'd be a few days for them to get it in. Sounds like Ebay's best, I'm a bit sick of walking into places, asking and getting the most blank expressions ever, no-one seems to know what a toffee wheel is. Is it a CS trade secret?

Coolant drained, rad out.

PS pipes are off, pump is ready to come off. Rack is off the bulkhead but still stuck in the bay.

Tomorrows jobs, lower mount and gear linkage off, rack out. Soundproofing to come off the bulkhead. Manual rack back in (EPS spec, quicker than full manual), pump off, drain oil, perhaps a sump gasket as that one has seepage, refit that, manifold back on, filter, new oil.

In fact Mike if you can, sort the gaskets tomorrow so we've got them in stock.

Todays purchase, front and rear bumper, front lower strut brace and 1 standard side repeater (I had 5 odd ones so 1 standard one at least gives me a set to use ), cost £5, bargain

MAN spec steering rack now installed (EPS rack with a manual column) just need new track rod ends then that'll be complete. Had to take the back engine mount off to get the rack out so I swapped it with the mount off the X12 which had my short shift on so that's another one to tick off the list. Nice productive night.

Need to sort track rod ends, exhaust gaskets and sump gasket tomorrow so hopefully on Saturday we can finish the steering, fix the oil leak, get the manifold on, rad back on then probably turn our attention back to the inside and the heater matrix and wiring.

No second hand full cages going anywhere? or did you want brand new? I held out for mine and got a full OMP bolt in for £150, a bargain was worth the wait.

Time's against us too so waiting for one to come up wasn't practical.

In other news, towing test booked so that's another thing I can forget about for a bit
