they didn't use to on BC2 either, you could start off with mines and extra explosives, put them down, die, swap classes and respawn and they still there.
you used to be able to put 7 or 8 down i think, any more and it starts picking up your old ones. Dunno if BF3 is the same yet.

oh i dont know, i dont think i ever placed a mine in BC2 lol.
in a way i suppose its right having them left as IRL if you place one it doest dissapear when you get blown up, but you probably only carry 1 or 2 maybe and not everyone will carry one.
i suppose if you had a team of supports it would be a nightmare for tanks lol

i find the trick is to lay them going down the track in line with the road and not in a line across,
if a vehicle goes over just one it disables it does not seem to kill the person inside, however if you have them close to eachother normally the vehicle hits a couple and just disables vehicle and kills person all in one.

I keep forgetting that you can have both mines and RPGs on BF3 so forget to put mines down sometimes. On BC2 you had to choose one or the other which was a bit annoying.

yea you can, although i think the PPM (Points per minute) would be better using the repair tool, but if you just want a laugh and dont really care for that then mines are a deffo go'er. im going to try them out tonight once the update has finished.

I like flying the jets. But I find it impossible to kill with them. The area that people on the ground can play in takes about 5 seconds to cross in a jet
Do you get bombs and shit as you rank up or not? That would make them a bit more effective.

i have got 10points in the jets for spotting someone, thats it
not sure how i meant to kill people with the guns, maybe they meant for other planes/choppers.
going to take ages to rank up, my mate tells me you need to rank up about 4 times before the jets become useful.

I remember the developers saying you could destroy the tower on CB! maybe they couldnt be arsed in the end or took it out.

There was footage of it being destroyed in one of the official videos, they took the ladder out as well so snipers couldn't camp there. They must have just took it out
