Sadly not, insurance doesnt run out till the 9th may so not gonna bother swopping the car over till I start the new policy. Wheels are coming off this week for powder coating and gives me some time to get a few little things done ready for new policy. Then all being well with the engine I'll be at the meets

The only reason I haven't is because they want £80 odd to change the car as its a sport etc.. Not worth it for 3 weeks really

10/5

took the car out for the first time tonight, couple of minor problems and one major. the major is its either leaking or drinking water rapidly ( whole bottle in a miles drive) . cant see any leaks at all , everything looks dry. i have noticed over time while its been on the drive the water has been dropping slowly which would suggest a leak but everything is dry. unless the waterpump is leaking? would explain how i lost more water by driving as the pump would be turning faster?

could be a big set back if this doesnt get fixed soon.

Could an air lock be the cause of the water loss? the heaters are blowing hot though?

Hmm.

Have you topped it back up yet? I had a slight problem with mine too, when mine was running it leaked from thermostat badly and some of the hoses weren't tight enough.

But your saying there's no wet spots? It's got to be leaking somewhere for it to go. Tricky one.

Condensation is normal as Shaun explained to me. Give her another top up and look at it closely while letting it tick over.

I'm sure you'll find it.

I'd just keep a very close eye on it for the minute and see if it settles down Martin. If not then you can start doing some more tests.

The breather smoke is normal though

ah good, ive gotta take it to get the exhaust moved as its knocking tomorrow, ill most likely have to top up twice for the couple mile drive lol hopefully it does settle down.

another problem ive got is it stinks of fuel, i mean completely stinks. you can smell down the road as you go past. the cars running rich and lumpy for some reason but im hoping a tune up should sort this?
