Where did you get your rocker cover bolts from mate, I will be looking for a set pretty soon for mine

Are you running the standard airbox on yours? if you are let me know what hose you use to connect the box an throttle body.

they are stainless steel bolts which i got off ebay for about £6.

ill mot likely be using a K & N , ill be getting a silicone hose to fit the throttle body and mount the air flow sensor inside just as shaunmods has on his car. to run a standard airbox i believe you've gotta get the 1.2 8v pipe, not 100% sure though. if you look at warren's guide to fitting a powerbox i think it says what pipe you need in there

you wanting a standard air box? if so try viperperformance, sure theres a link in my thread somewhere, it hasnt got a bend, shaun told me it'd be a direct fit and still have the sensor hole in, it wasn't far off, i had to cut it a little like. cost about £25posted iirc

last weekend, we got the old engine and gearbox out the car. thanks to .Matt for letting me borrow his crane.









Engine gone.

next was to get the engine bay ready for the new engine. cleaning up and spraying a few areas.




got the old gearbox cleaned , ready mount to the new engine well. came accross a problem tonight with the crankshaft sensor.
We bought a new sensor when i got the engine, tried fitting it but it hits the pulley before it sits flush with the mount to screw it in to. so i thought i'd bought the wrong size sensor.

took the one of the old engine today, tried to fit it and still have the same problem. for the sensor to sit the correct distance apart from the pulley , it leaves about 3cm from the screwing point so i cant screw it in. any ideas people?

Can't you take the bracket and sensor off your 1.4 matey should be the same

so i found out why the crank sensor wouldn't fit. put the pulley on without matching it up to the inner crankshaft pulley and done this damage:


luckily i had the pulley from the old engine to fit
cleaned and painted the wheel arches. will be refurbishing the struts once the engine is in.




bought some powerflex bushes for the lower arms.


and painted the manifold ready for the wrap which i got today. ive also got the coolant pipes from samco, just need an induction pipe now. new radiator will be fitted aswell

thanks, neither can i now, im away the next two weekends, but then there will be one final push to have it in by then end of march. not too much to get now. few things like the brake servo lines ive gotta work out, but shouldn't delay putting it in

update 9/3

havent updated for a few weeks been busy getting a lot done ready for it to go in. should be going in tomorrow.

wrapped the manifold and put it on.


got a samco air filter pipe with thanks to shaunmods.


dad did a real good job of cleaning and painting up the gearbox.



also got a some stuff powdercoated:


engine is off the stand and onto the hoist to fit the clutch and gearbox tomorrow morning and we are hoping to get the engine fitted tomorrow!
