Cheers mate Yea I would've been on my way back about that time, should've give me a flash or something

I thought he was going to fail it when he said about the scaffold bar straight through, just as well I got a friendly MOT man. They seem quite lenient in Coleraine.

Cheers mate

Broke today again Driving down the road and the battery light came on, called into my mates garage and had a nosey, stupid alternator belt broke. Tried 3 shops and not one had a belt the right size Was 60 miles away from home so had to make do with one that was too short.

Had to cut and weld my alternator adjuster bracket to allow me to move it forward more which allowed the belt to fit. What a nightmare, always breaking on me

I shouldn't read your thread, each time I do I want to go out and buy a Corsa B and an XE. Why do you always do this to me?

Don't buy 1 Dave, nothing but trouble

Fucking thing is broke again Think it might be the end of it now tbh. I can't afford t keep pouring money into it, I need a car that can get me to work and back without worrying about it breaking. Only been on the road properly about a week and already its broke twice.

Had to be towed 60 miles tonight to get the thing home.

Don't know tbh, hopefully none, was turning into an industrial estate when it happened so was only doing about 10mph and knocked it out straight away. Going to lift the engine out tomorrow and see how bad it is, will more than likely be breaking it now though.

Did you not replace the water pump before you fitted the engine Jamie?

I know Darryl, nothing but bad luck with this car, problem after problem. Don't know what to do now tbh. Sick of fixing it, if I fix it again, is it going to break again another week down the line. Just seem to keep pouring money into it and getting nothing in return.

Yea Mark, was a brand new water pump but it still managed to fail, I changed all them bits to make sure nothing like this would would happen, just a shit design like steve said, if the outer ring was secured better it wouldn't have happened.

Do I fix it? Or do I break it? If I'm fixing it probably going to cost me in the region of 1k.

I'd be fixing it if it were me but that's because I've had quite a lot of miles of fun in mine.

If I were in your position I'd understand why you would want to break it. It would just be a shame when it does look good

I'm thinking about it Darryl, I've done 500 miles in it and most of them have been fun, I just don't know if I can afford to keep chasing problems. ATM I don't know what damage has been done, the valves are badly scored but I don't know if that would cause the tapping?

I'm considering part-exing it for a known running good engine or else getting it rebuilt but I need time to think
