Doing a quick Google last night on the subject, some people reckon it could be out as early as Jan 2011 (to "fix" the reception problem), others reckon mid 2011 to coincide with the usual yearly release date from AT&T out in the States.

Yours thoughts?

It'll be the same time as it is every other year, same as always.

They have no reason to release one to fix the reception issues since as far as they are admitting there are none.

It's not AT & T's date either, it's when Apple say it's coming out.

No chance of a release before next summer.

iPhone sales have been stagering. Even with all the Antennagate problems they have still sold by the bucket load. Thus no reaon to waste money designing a new phone for a short release.

At the moment they are working on the iPads replacement rather than an iPhone

As has already been said, will be released the same time as always.

I'm sure I saw something about the iPhone 5 having a 3d screen.

I can't see it coming out that quick.

It's like with the N8 though (and I know I go on about it). But they have taken so long with the release, and there is already talk of the N9.

I think the 3GS is the best they'll ever do, not keen on the 4 & I can't see the 5 being much better

How is the 3GS the best they'll ever do?

Apart from the antenna problem, version 4 of the iPhone is without a doubt the best one yet.

What's so great about it?

Generally I found people were happy with their 3GS & not happy with their 4. Some of the so called 'upgrades' were a bit pony

I think everyone should have a Nokia 3210 so they can stop boring people with talk of shitty Apple products.

Seriously, it's meant to be a way to communicate, not the center of conversation for the rest of your life. Just because you spent £400 on a phone, doesn't justify talking about it for the rest of your fucking life.

According to Wikipedia, they seem to be released roughly every June with a few exceptions.

Well, my current contract isn't up for renewal until September 2011 so if they did release a new one at that time next year, I should be able to get it easily by this time in 2011!

But fuck paying lots of £££s for it though

Cheapest deal I've seen for the iPhone 4 is with 3, £99 for the iPhone and £30/month (which is what I pay at the moment for my current phone/contract).

Hmmm...

These threads appear every time without fail just after a launch of a new iphone.
yes im sure there will be a new iphone next June/July as there has been every year now for the last 3 years.
Just seems pointless, i had a mate say to me the other day hes waiting for an iphone 5 rather than the 4 as it will be out soon

The screen alone on the 4 shows that the 3GS isn't the best they'll ever do.

I'm bored of them, they have become the main talking point in life. When I see someone pull one out their pocket I want to strangle babies I get that angry.

some people are buying them to fit in and quote me where I said it's a poor phone. I think the value for money aspect of the phone is ridiculous, that's all.

I just think it's very overpriced (not because it's £400) but because it probably costs less than 50 to make
