Looking good lad just a question about the solids do they tap? A friend of mine had them in his xr2 and it sounded fucked. Was gonna get a similar setup to you but didn't know if solids tapped

Cheers

solids tap a touch tbh until warm then there not too bad but advantage is reliability over hydraulics and on xes being able to rev the tits out of the engine and use some big lift cams.

sounds like your mates lifters werent shimmed or set up properly and on a xr2 there never brilliant haha

progress has been a little slow atm as i have been moving units and have been doing a little work there ,

pics from when i first went to view it

then decieded to sink the ramp into the floor to make it easer to get lowed cars on as atm i have to jack the corsa up so not ideal

then painted the walls and floor(still need to paint the doors)

then started to move my crap in,also got my airline on a real now , so much easer to tidy away

then today i moved the corsa and my truck there , had to take a pic of the corsa outside

(new background )

truck parked up next to unit

and the corsa inside

loads of clearance on the ramp arms

and the outside

jobs still to do are , the fromt door is getting steel plated across the bottom then need to paint it inside and outside, need to get some pads made up for the ramp so they will sit inside the jacking point, and need to get my mate to wire my ramp in

got my mate to fit the ring gear to my new flywheel today

also picked up my starter loom from greg on sunday :thumb:

striped it down ready to get re raped when i get some more tape

question, the terminal that comes of the -battery one wire goes straight to the chasse and the other one goes through the loom then earths out on the chasse again, can i just take the second one out and just earth it on the small one ?

Does that earth not go onto the starter motor?
I reckon if you just try to earth it solely through the smallest earth you will have issues cranking.

Yep that is the engine earth, It is needed. Best way like that too as its right next to the starter so no cranking issues.

New workshop looks lush.

looks a lot worse than it is in that pic

these are the wires i have left for the started , whitch 2 are for it and whats the other one for

took a trip out today to get some spacers for the rear as they were just touching the coilovers

did the drivers side all ok , when to take the passengers side of and the wheel just fell apart, left me with a nice big hole in the middle

and the piece that has cracked of

and the centercap

and a pic of the part placed on ,

took it to the welders today and left it with him as he wasent there so am waiting a phone call, luckley that part is not structural so it should not be a problem welding it but meens i have to get it re painted
