My misses phoned about her upgrade today - O2 apparently don't know its release date. Interesting they didn't deny it coming to O2 etc though.
Thank fuck she can hold off renewing her contract, she nearly upgraded to a Dell Streak yesterday

i'm going to back track a bit because from watching a few Youtube videos i think Symbian looks ok. Granted it doesn't seem to be a fluid as iOS/Android but it seems far from shite as everyone is making it out to be (probably my opinion will change once i get a play on one). It might be worth a punt though, as specwise it's better than the iPhone and Desire....

N8 clearly offers something different other than 'useless' apps. No other smart phone comes close with a 12mp camera iirc.
I think the OS on my E51 (S60) isn't too bad so it will only get better. I hope.

I think the problem with symbian is the stability and the old fashioned way of doing things. I.e they made an N95 touch screen rather than redeveloping an is for their touchscreen phones. It's not "bad" per se if you hadn't used say an iPhone or an android. But the newer phones are a generation ahead. The Nokia to make calls etc is flawless as was my N97 people said it was woefull. It was never that bad a phonetbh the only thing that annoyed me was the pc software that never worked and the memory allocation that was ridicules. Other than that it did me 14months proud never missed a beat.
