what would it take to get this power?

reason i am asking is because im a bit unsure and a lad has asked me.

the lad whos car it is is 800miles old and has just had a scorpion 3" system fitted with a 'sports cat' so i assume thats a 200cell cat and he has a panel filter.

What sort of power do you think this car would be running atm, i thought it would be about 250-260bhp.

With only breather mods changes to the bhp are going to be very limited I'm sure.

Remap would take it above and beyond 300 though without much trouble.

Just with the Scorpion you are looking at 260bhp max.

To hit 300bhp you are looking for a Stage 2 map with decent exhaust, and maybe a few breathing mods like CDTI airbox etc.

However i'm running over 300bhp with an exhaust, EDS stage 2, and an uprated boost actuator. So it does depend on the car sometimes.

Lets not forget that it can depend on the dyno too

It can...yeah...I'm pretty certain the dyno i've ran on 4 times is okaty though. It seems to produce "expected" figs on most cars.

Tbh these are the best uses for dyno. Before and after comparisons.

Stage 1 with the exhaust will take it to 250bhp max with about 240lb/ft

Stage 2 with exhaust and map is anything from 260bhp to 290bhp and 300lb/ft to 340lb/ft depending on map/rollers if its been on Regals rollers it will have 30000000bhp and 4000000lb/ft

Stage 3 with exhaust map and cooler is anything from 280bhp to 310bhp with 300lb/ft to 340lb/ft

Mine with full Remus and stage 2 Thorney map is 272bhp and 340lb/ft, you could have a higher bhp figure and loose the torque but I like the torque, it's immense.

I'm now running lower torque but high BHP.
I know of quite a few S2 cars running 300bhp but with airbox mods etc.

Something maybe not quite right then. Running less than std with an exhaust. Does it feel okay to him? It may just be a slow car. Some are lower power as std than others. Mine ran low figs with the exhaust on its first turbo. But then had new turbo undr warrenty and it transformed it.

Tbh if it goes well then fuck the figures.

are these 'stage 1, 2, 3' maps tailored to the car - or just flash upgrades the the standard ECU?

Get the boost turned right up (to max you can fuel for) - then get it mapped. Easy Peasy

couldnt believe the price of a Remus when Andy told me.

Why on earth are you guys paying that? Surely you can get a system custom made for less than half of that?

FMIC - 400 isnt too bad, but if you are paying £1000 for an intercooler for 300bhp thats crazy.

Surely some of the universal off the shelf (Allard etc) are near enough the correct dimensions/pipe size etc.

When does the standard IC become a hinderance?

Must be with the car still being fairly newish folk arent doing the more DIY stuff yet.
