Been covered a million times. Pretty pointless and expensive as the LET conversion has been done and parts easily available.

Location Pick........

Im unsure on turbo sizes these days, but the most popular "bolt on" turbo is the Garrat T25 if that helps.

I would also replace the inlet manifold to free us the inlet flow.

Always the haters.

Brazillians have been turbocharging everything corsa for years, including 1.0 12v's.

As soon as someone says something, theres always the hater bandwagon.

France also don't allow engine changes, nor do Spain I think. I know theres been some good power turbo corsas in Brazil. But a simple T25 turbo, IC, exhaust, 5th injector, raised comp (courtenay do it via the good old extra headgasket route), and inlet manifold, and its knocking on 180+bhp. Put a decent turbo and exhaust manifold, decent boost and appropriate strengthend parts, and 300+ is easy.

Anyone remember Velos torque tubes? they were producing an off the shelf 300bhp turbo kit for the 1.6, but went bust, so whats so hard to see another 80bhp from.

That would be LOWER compression you mean. Turbo cars + too high compression = boom

A friend have a pickup corsa C 1.4 8v turbocharged!

this engine produce 105HP and have 12,4:1 compression ratio genuine specs.

After the turbo installed the engine goes to 196HP with 0,7kg using a GT25 + IC + 50LB injectors.

Its just 6-8 years ago, if we had a foreigner arrive on the forum, everyone would be all over them, its new and different.

Mention a turbocharged 1.6, and people would have been jacking over their keyboards.

Now someone posts, and people moan about fake power claims, just bung a LET in etc..

People should embrace other users like this, we all might learn something on how other countries get down with modifying. Whole other world out there.

Yeah you can run high compression with a turbo, a mate of mine has a Toyota Yaris with high compression pistons, 220 BHP (or there abouts) but its not running much boost, too much boost would blow it up, obviously using low comp pistons and a multi layer head gasket would lower the compression allowing him to put more boost through.

Courtenay changed no pistons. Unsure where comp was raised or lowered. All I remember is they bunged in a 5th injector, put another 2 headgaskets in (3 total), put their manifold, turbo, and charge £3k+ for the pleasure of 30bhp increase.

That would lower compression hence why people use multi layer (I.E cometic head gaskets) for turbo apps.
