Have you changed the final drive ratio? If not im afraid to tell you you where actualy doing 139mph tops. Which is all an f20 is geared for no matter the power
thats wrong. if its reving to 8200rpm its going to have a higher top speed that something at 6500rpm

Funnily enough, this brings me back to a post a while back about "why do you hate corsas".

Perfect example, at 135-140, my corsa flat out was like thunder, stearing wheel shaking, noisey, skittish etc.

But at 150 the Astra was like driving at 70mph.

Which is why the corsa was so much fun.

Spa dash, and road angel must be wrong then as well as my friends fiesta which showed him passing me doing 170, all on private roads though

Complete rubbish.

RPM comes into it as well as rolling radius of the driven wheels.

Sorry to pick your post in particular but there is a lot of rubbish in this thread.

Top speed is determined by CoD (no, not a game for nerds), gearing and power. Nothing has been posted to tell you what any of those factors are.

entirely possible dependant on:
a) power
b) rev limit
c) gearing/final drive
d) rolling radius of wheel

look at the REV LIMIT

Gearbox are NOT geared for a certain speed, they reach greather speeds as rev's increase

170 @ 300hp is easily achiveable with an healthy engine and healthy turbo. Dont really see whats so funny about that.

I've managed 163 on a tom tom gps and mine wasn't 300hp.

Id say 175mph is def possible in a Corsa although I would have though you would need more than 300bhp?

There are two different F20's too! My old XE Corsa with an 8500 rpm rev limit topped out at 134mph on an F20 and that was timed at a Redline event.

140 and 138 in a VTS... wtf

And I've took my XE Corsa to 140 a few times, didn't feel dangerous at all, maybe I'm a bit nuts?

280BHP in a Astra MK3 with F28 took it to 165
