Seriously, Have you checked those top mounts? I'm not being a noob, But if they aren't done up correctly, they could snap etc. Please check/get pics maybe?

Deffo NOT tight enough, Need air gunning up or offset ring spanner and allen key.

The cup bit should be tight on the rubber top mount, I bet if you was to have a jack taking the weight of the car, that top mount would move around.

No, the top mount itself, Ignore the strut brace completely.

You see how the cup bit (the metal thing under/around the nut) is raised vs the rubber, I haven't got a pic of mine and haven't got cam atm, But you can see here the cup isnt raised like yours.

Yours is raised as its moved up and stopped when hitting the nut, Probs when jacked up

It's all air gunned up.

I'll jack car up tomoz and have a look. You reckon i'll have to take the leg out again and re-fit it? It might not be in right at the top of the leg

If its been airgunned up the shock must of just moved, Normally its fine, Best see if you can find a spanner to fit, It should all just sqeeze up, If not, You will have to take the strut completely off and try to stop the shock rod from spinning while you gun up the nut.

It is a pain, But that really isn't right, They aren't that strong at the top and its really Not ideal.

There definitely not tight enough, you cant just put an air gun on it and tighten it up as the shock will just spin. You need a 19mm swan neck spanner and an allen key to work against yourself.

Would only knock if weight was fully taken off them, And i'm not convinced they would anyway as its all rubber. Its not right though, It shouldn't be up like that, Even if its all tight, It will be fucked top mounts, which are just as bad.

Turning the wheel left to right and knowing what your listening for would 100% confirm top mounts But as its hard to explain and your miles away, its not that simple

I know what I'm talking about, I've been around vauxhalls for years.

TBF, I've had success just gunning them up, Most of the time it works for me, I normally do it with weight on it so it helps.

And swan neck, I couldn't remember teh name
