I think the FSE power boost valves give very small increase in BHP and are supposed to improve throttle response. But having it just by itself is next to useless the gains will be negligible. If i'm wrong i'm wrong but i think i read this somewhere......check fast car ads or max power

I HAVE 1 ON MY CAR! if u have a full zorst system and ind kit or panel filter with drilled box the this will help as uve added more air to the mixture now u need more fuel it can over or under fuel if ur not careful have ur local rolling roader set it up 4 ya dats wat i did, plus ur car runs crap if its not setup right, when i had just a cat back system and power boost valve and ind kit my car read 99.2 bhp and 94.96 ibf.ft of torque so 9.2 bhp was gained from all three

Wrong. Power boost valves oxygenate the petroleum before its reached the engine. It draws in air and mixes it with petrol to give a greater air/fuel ratio. Does work slightly.

Its a fuel pressure regulator. Seems to work if your car has many flat spots.

ditto
jus a gimmick.

even if u had a air filter that "supposedly" adds more air, the engines ecu will react by adding more fuel itself without the need 4 one

Sweeet!

The bloke who RR'd my car said my car was running too lean - I needed to enrichen the mixture... do you think one of these would solve the problem?

How do they fit?

Corsa120 you got a pic of yours in your engine bay?

They don't so much cure an engines flat spots so much as cover them up will work but is better to do things properly find out why you have a flat spot and fix it instead of puttin a stupid gimmick on your car

Old RR...

new RR...

Top one is the old one - bottom one was when I fixed my Air Flow Meter, but it feels like it was with the top 1 again...

in both I have problems with Air Flow Mixture and Running Lean... more in the top pic obviously!

Had 2 - both look fine?

I don't think its to do with them, I think its to do with the way the ECU maps itself and the fact it keeps mapping itself a bit lean...

remember the SXi is basically a nippy shopping car aimed at mums for low insurance and good fuel economy.

Perhaps it was built in to map itself lean when ECU is resetted?

After Reseting its alright for a while - then runs shite. Like it just flatterns itself out.

The 81 bhp read out was done after changing my AFM a week previously - the guy still said it was running lean and said about squashing something in my fuel regulator to enrichen the mixture...

well A) my car feels worse than it was back then (bout a month ago) and B) a Power boost valve lets u change the rich ness of the mixture coz its like a variable fuel regulator - now you see why I'm interested?

Sweet - mine leans out at 4.5k at the moment - you can hear the exhaust noise dissapear and u just get a 'high pitched noise' - coz the engine is no longer really combusting at max rate...

plus lack of power

I have cat back zorst + filter... how easy are they to fit?

someone has one for sale in classifieds - well a universal one?

how much do they cost?

for 20 - 30 quid I'd be happy to sort out my mixture problem once and for all...

My car sometimes doesn't pull smoothly too if I floor it, i.e. floor it off the lights and at about 1.5-2k rpm it dips, then picks up - dips as in feels like I've put on the brakes

but I think its coz its being suffocated of either fuel or air... basically I'm booting it and it can't get enough of 1 and thus suffocates.
