I have had a few corsas in the past.. 1.4's and 1.6.

I bought a corsa 1.2 sxi from the auctions not long ago and i need a bigger engine... i know the c20xe are good engines but as too are the x16xe's.

My question is, what would you suggest i go for with a budget of about £1200 for engine swap?

Thanks in advance

c20xe. The 16's are quick, but 20xes have plenty of torque. If your going to tune the engine the redtop will obviously see better gains quicker.

I'll get shot down for this, but you could do a 1.8 conversion with that budget and it's an easier conversion than the XE.

In that you can use the existing mounts and don't need loads of conversion parts like you do for the xe.

With a remap it would be about 135-140bhp which would make it pretty fast but a redtop would pull away eventually. I spent alot of money on a 1.6 and got 130bhp and it was nippy but an xe would sook me all day. You would be better with throttle bodies but thats alot more than your budget.

And yours is throttle bodied...And you're fortunate enough that you worked for the robber at VSport. This lad won't have the same luxuries, otherwise he wouldn't be making the thread. Ps; for £1200 you'll be quicker in a straight line with an XE.

Well in my defence I did take it to a bunch of retarded cowboys

If it had gone to Dave or even Warren nothing would have gone wrong.
