moved from sky to o2 as they were shot at prob solving! And so are o2

I recon since Thursday when we had issues i have spent over 20hrs+ on hold, checking what light is on the router, trying this that and the other!

3hrs in total today was the last straw!

Whats up with TalkTalk?

To put it lightly, there is a whole website dedicated to problems with TalkTalk.

http://www.talktalkproblems.co.uk/broadband/

If you've had trouble with O2 and Sky, chances are there's a problem on your line - which basically means, any service you subscribe to, there will always be a problem of some sort.

Have you considered taking out Virgin cable broadband?

Sounds like the problem is down to your wiring/exchange rather than the ISP.

i would have said sky and o2 were amongst the best for actual web service, maybe not customer service... i think you will have probs will all ISP. Why not put the dish elsewhere and not on the house?

o2 still has support in Glasgow, I had to phone recently, the email is india though, avoid like the plague.

If you are having problems with o2 on Glasgow you can't be doing what they ask.

I would get on the phone to BT and get them to do some checks on your line (afaik BT own all the lines and every other company out there 'borrows' their lines, hence when there's a problem on the line, the job will get passed onto BT).

I can't see there not being a problem on your line if you've had problems with O2 and Sky.

It's better to get the ISP to chase up BT, bt won't be very interested if you phone up on your own.

Have you connected the router straight to the main phone point in the house and disconnected everything else to see if you still get the same problem.

It's best to ring your service provider. Don't phone BT. Your service provider will/should speak with Openreach (a BT Group business) who are the company that maintain the access network on behalf of all service providers.

The service provider should be able to escalate it with BT/Openreach if there's no joy initially, too.

No, no, I mean if he gets to the point where he has no internet - or subscribes to Virgin instead, he should phone BT up - even if he complains there's a fault on his landline, they will still run the checks.

F.Y.I. Its fixed now...

But they sent out a new router which turned out to be a recon... (Pen marks on the back by the reset button)

We would try a few things get put on hold then get told 2nd line need to look at this and they will call you back or bt need to look into it and we will call you back.

Never have a call back

They kept trying the same old thing then fob me off when they had reached the end of there problem solving software...

So what exactly was fixed then - was your router duff, or did you have to change some settings somewhere?
