It cost me £495 including free courtesy car.

Some people will probably think thats alot but tbh for the quality of the work I think its a bargain.

You wouldn't get a full correction/protection for £200.

Not of this quality anyway.

I didn't really want to post the price for this reason as I knew i'd get these comments.

Tbh you can do ALOT of damage with a machine polisher if used incorrectly, and mine needed quite a bit of work on drivers side where it was resprayed after accident.

I'd rather let a pro do it, and not worry about fucking up the paint.

End of the day....results are immense and i'm happy with what I paid so imo thats all that matters. AND I know I can keep it like that (swirl free etc) so it was worth the investment.

yep for sure a machine polisher in the wrong hands can be a disaster but its not that hard to do, dont be shy mate and get into it yourself its easy

if you feel a bit shaky practice on someone else's car

All credit to you matey.. it looks fooking awesome.. Personally I could only justify it on a garaged show car, But as you stated above, each to there own kid. To drive it back out in the rain after handing that sort of cash over.. Id suicidal, It wont be long before its swirled up again if you use it everyday.

But well in… it does look good there.

Thanks mate!

The thing is....because the car is always well prepared/protected with good products its easy to keep clean. I was gutted that it got wet and dirty straight away but I know that on Sunday when I clean it I can get it perfect again easily.

As for swirls. You don't get swirls from driving. Its poor washing methods i.e. not using 2 bucket method, using dirty sponges/mitts etc. and basically dragging dirt across the paint. So it shouldn't get swirled again for a long time becauseI detail it correctly. It was swirl free until it was "valeted" by the bodyshop who did the accident repair!

Got to admit, both cars look good.

But I think im missing the point with this detailing lark. Having cars like that i'd want to be out enjoying them not keeping them wrapped up been wasted. Its alright giving them a good clean and a polish but i think that this detailing is going way too far now.

Looks good mate.

What is it with people being so critical. If you dont have £500 for a detail fair enough. Ben clearly can afford a VXR and a £500 detail and thats his decision.

If detailing was a farce it wouldnt be such a big industry now would it? As always you always get what you pay for and Detailing is no exception

people have been drying their cars with leaf blowers for years?

not round here they havent if i seen someone doing that i'd smack them round the head with a 100% pure dead sea sponge then strangle them with a microfibre waffle weave cloth

There's no chance people used filtered water and leaf blowers until a bunch of mostly illiterate valeters found the detailing world forum.

I used compressed air and when I found myself lucky enough to be at a mates garage who had a compressor I used them to blow the water out of under the mirrors and under the window seals.

Same thing IMO.
