Right then people Ive been working away yet again so no progress on the corsa .

Its currently Sorn off road and im going to be ordering new lifters for it this week aswell as stem seals, cam seals, head gasket, oil and filter etc, also im gona get a new nearside whell bearing as that seems to be on its way out. Once its all built back up am going to be buying some pukka leads and plugs aswell as a new dizzy cap and rotor arm to get it sparking nicely.

But as winter has set in with salt on the roads etc it was time to take my splitties off the polo and put my newly painted (using leftover corsa paint) Audi TT comp alloys on. Looks really well and so easy maintenence compared to having to metal polish the rh's up every time.

Here they are;

I will bring some more corsa progress soon i hope

Cheers all/

Right people, took the head off the corsa today to replace the valve stem seals etc, to find that the pistons that had been fitted had an odd 1 :@. Not very happy about that at all there were 3 accralite pistons and 1 mahle piston.

Ive done alot of reasearch and cant find any acralite pistons which match as apparently they were a batch made for courtney sport about 5 years ago.

So what ive ended up doing is ordering a full new set of Mahle pistons to match the 1 that was in there already, there .5mm oversized and forged, they come with new rings etc so it was money i didnt really need to spend but i want it right this time.

Il get some piks up when they get here.

Right then people i finally got it all back together again and running . Sounds really quiet now with the new lifters which im really happy about .

The only trouble is is that its still missing under boost evan with all the new leads etc . If any 1 could help me solve this it would be great

Anyway heres the latest piks of it being put back together:

Head re-fitted to car with new headgasket and valve stem seals:

Sump re-fitted with 2 new gaskets, all turbo oil feeds conected etc, down pipe re-connected

More new parts lol

New hydralic lifters fitted to head.

Cams refitted and cam cover

And then i couldnt help a few piks again of how she looked on the test drive

Im gonna run it in for about 1k miles then gona change the oil once more and enjoy it . Really want to get that missing sorted asap thow.

Cheers.

It's not running standard chips it it? If its not running standard chips the plugs need gapping to 0.6. Do you know the model number of the NGK's?

Well the plugs sound like standard plugs, although they'd work fine under boost if they were gapped right. Take the plugs out and gap them to 0.6. If that doesn't solve the problem then either the plugs are naff or its something else .
