I know i shouldnt get annoyed by this guy at work but i do.
Hes a VAG only kinda guy.. so no matter what you drive it isnt a "proper car" unless its VW,Audi..
was driving home on friday and passed him on the way.. he text "oh no, its a really big Vectra"
and today was saying, "yeah but its just a Vectra really isnt it"
pisses me right off
oh and for those that dont know i drive a VXR8

Badge snobbery..
Ask him what is so good about his VAG car other than the 'Badge'.
To be honest you'll never win, people like that are to far up their own arses to appreciate a REAL car, if it was badged up as Holden he would probably be getting wet over it.
I'll bet if you told him an Octavia was just the same as a Bora he'd have kittens.

agree some people really are just into badges. and if it was badges up as a holden i think he would still say its just a Vaux

If he drives a VW he's boring. If he drives an Audi he's boring. If he drives a Seat he's driving a poor mans Skoda, if he drives a Skoda then he's driving a poor mans Seat. I think that covers all the marques

VAG's are very overated
They do some good cars but prove more unreliable than most
and my exoperience of Audi dealerships mean I would try my hardest never to own one ever again

Yours has a v8, and the correct wheels driven.
It has nothing to do with being a vectra.
Since when was vw anything other than a marque where people pay over the odds for a ford/vauxhall equivilant with a german badge thats basicly saying i cant afford a bmw or an audi or a benz. Rather audacious of him given than the A3 and Corrado have rather a lot in common with old Golfs.
I wouldn't be too worried. You've got a boss car and he's got a collection of similar old cars and pink sunglasses.
