Im trying to find a new car and having difficulty deciding what would be the best, have about 5k to spend!
Im looking in terms of performance over anything else for now, but would rather it be a newish car (newer than 2002). Im looking mainly for a hot hatch aswell!
Suggestions please

Same position as me then
Ive gone for a Astra Gsi T mk4.
Other cars compared to it are:
.Civic Type R
.Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8 20v T
.Clio 172/182?
.Golf MK4 Gti
Lots more out there just got to try some insurance qoutes and see what comes up, for example I could get insured for an extra £50 a year over the astra for a s14a but wanted something more modern and low mileage.

I'd got for a seat ibiza cupra or a clio 172/182 myself. I like CTR's but insurance quotes I got at 19 for one were pathetic

200sx i think you would struggle with insurance and with the M3 although my friend was paying £940 for a gt4 at 19, there very cheap to insure.
As Kurt said the glanza is a good option although they only made them upto 2000
Ibiza Cupra would be my weapon of choice
Although i would siggest a Yaris Sport

Insurance on any of these at 19 will be a disgraceful amount.

A Yaris T-Sport
What about a Fabia VRS (Diesel )
http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1151265.htm
Spend an extra £250/£300 on a remap or a tuning box and youve got yourself a properly quick car, but cheap to insure (ive always found Diesels cheaper to insure than a slower petrol equivalent - 1.6 petrol astra was £800, my 2.0DTi is £550 ) and even booting it will still see 40mpg probably = Win

I'll have you know that a T Sport is a right wee laugh Nippy enough as standard, but cheap insurance. But it's a lukewarm hatch in amongst CTR's etc
