Well im back after a hectic Christmas with the intentions of getting some more ponies out of my Gsi.

The TB's fnally arrived after a couple of weeks wait due to crimbo holidays etc, this is what they looked like when i recieved them from a guy off the ebay (not a great picture but you get the idea)

The airbox was HUGE compared to the picture! It reprensents the same shape as the fuel tank on the bike so as you can appreciate its quite big

Right first thing was to strip them down as far as they can go and get rid of anything that won't be needed So off with the fuel rail, injectors, MAP Sensor and FPR as ill be using the original setup already on the car. Before and After...........

This is basically the Electronic Choke setup from the bike, basically opens 4 little plungers to allow for more air, not needed as the butterflies can be adjust manually to set idle

You can see that where the injector rail has been removed it will leave holes where they were seated, 3 of these will be blanked off and the last one will be used for the Brake Servo vacuum.

There pretty much down as far as they can go now, so everything is put back on and cleaned up

Sorted out the vacuum hosing for the FPR and The MAP Sensor

First was the FPR Hosing.........

Then the MAP Sensor hosing, purposely set up across all for banks for an even reading

Then the rubbers were cleaned an attatched to the inlet manifold side, this side will be connected to the engine once manifold is made up.........

Then the trumpets were put back on, baring in mind these are 2 different lengths, these will be a tempory messure until i can get my hands on some chrome equal length trumpets

Thats basically it until I get the manifold sorted which should be long Hopefully have it sorted for the weekend and maybe a trial fit, ill be sure to get some vids up etc

Right time for a little update i suppose

As you all know this project has been on going for a few months now, but unfortunately due to lack of funds, MOT, TAX and Tony being snowed under at work it has been postponed for a while

But.............on Saturday i was greeted by Tony at the Rolling Road day with my box full of goodies i gave to him a few months ago

So now all the aluminium tubings have been cut to length, and have had the injector port locating holes cut.......

Here are a couple of pics as of late, decided to get some trumpet socks for some protection, got them of eBay for £20 for 4, not that much to look at but serve a purpose

As you can see the tubes are all cut down now, with injector ports cut

Here is the original manifold all cut down and flattened, supporting the original water jacket connector

Here is what they will potentially look like after welding, as you can see the original injectors will be seated fairly tight

And another pic from another angle

So all in all its coming along, the only thing holding it up is the welding issue which should be sorted within the next couple days or so......
