Very good daily drive.
Drive like a cunt everywhere at 15mpg is easily done.
Drive modest, and properly doing the speed limit and 40 is doable. Went to skeg in one the other week with cruise control on the a roads (not even motorway) and it did 43 mpg Nice long gear ratios.
Reliable, but they seem to eat turbos for some strange reason. I know a friends had his done at 50k (is this down to owners abuse???)
Bit boring to drive though, but if its your daily drive, will be brilliant.
Pull nice running 20 psi aswell Friend had his remapped but didnt realise his actuator was wound up untill a week later. Wonder why it pulled hard. To asta folk, how many BHP would it had be running with precat removed, cat back and 20 psi on standard turbo?

excellent daily driver, relatively refined quiet abd well built.
Mine suffered with niggles with boost solenoids and an iffy idle when hot in traffic but it never missed a beat. Look great, spacious and comfy but i found the spoiler was a pain to see out the back, it was hard to park due to being snub nosed hig sided and high backed, great round town as are nippy cars
just dont expect to blow you away in the handling department, capable and grippy but lacks feel/involvement.
As for fuel mine drank tons of it, but it was remapped with pipes and intercooler so not standard.
Eibachs are a must too.

Mates is on coilovers and lowerd about -390mm. Looks cool but it is harsh, and doesnt do any favours for its sliddy charactoristics. It needs rake.
Forgot to mention about the rear spoiler. You have to learn to do s funny neck motion to look around it when looking in the mirror. Looks like your doing the robot

this is my brothers car seriously doubt it's -390mm though i think its around -60 or -70 on back and around -70 on front iirc. really are nice cars to drive aswel. nice and comfortable, sounds really nice with miltek catback on aswel. stage 1 map makes it pull alot smoother aswel.
all in all a very nice car, and if i were to get one it would have to be in arden blue as rich just said

btw the -390 mm was a slight bend of the truth.
Just low, i would say its closer to 90mm than 60

5 turbo's and counting
Well the 6th is garrett and cost a lot so it better not break
They good cars to drive,
Depends what you want out of it.
Eibach suspension kit, decent exhaust and it's a really good daily driver and a decent enough cr for b-roads too.
If you want it for power, don;t bother.
I wanted mine for that, and I'm sitting here 3years later with 280bhp and a massive hole in my pocket,
300bhp seems impossible (realisticly)

im on 60k with standard turbo and its fine so dont know why people keep killin them, i warm up and cool down after good thrashes......
drink petrol when you use the throttle but excellent if your careful.
well refined/comfy/well built and seem to be quite reliable to, only changed afm in 30k miles along with obvious services
absolute great car for cruising and daily commuting, i disagree with it being a boring car abit the cars best feature is its mid-range punch so a-roads are great as thats where the power is, not 0-60 like most people seem to only be impressed by when in the red lion pub tellin there friends with a glass of stella lol.
the gears are long so it dont feel quick but you are really well as quick as any other 200bhp car

Boring due to the lifeless steering, lack of any sort of driver involvement and general detachment from the whole experience.
They are nice cars dont get me wrong, but they are just not a drivers car,

I fully agree, but vauxhall didnt build it to be anything more than a top-spec astra. They can be made a fair bit better buy adding varios suspension part's but they are still no hot-hatch

My mate has had trouble with gearboxes, had it rebuilt twice.
I think this is a once off though, never heard problems with them before.
