Thought I better start a thread and show the project pics of my new house. Me and the girlfriend got the keys a couple of weeks ago. The house is a 3 bedroom end terrace.

I apologise in advance for any poor pictures, I was finding it difficult to get as much room in each pic as possible

Looking inside through the front door...

Downsatirs toilet...

Conservatory...

Living room...

Bedroom 2 (Pink isn't really my colour)...

Bedroom 3...

Upstairs bathroom mid clean...

Front garden...

We have a rear garden but I need to take a better picture of it.

Ok so first thing we did was give it a good hoover and clean, I was really pleased to see the last owners hoovered often ...

First thing to do as it was sunny was to mow the lawn. It wasn't a jungle but the front and rear gardens filled about 5 bin bags!

Next on the agenda was wallpaper stripping. Every room apart from bedroom 1 has wallpaper ...

This now leaves us with rooms looking like this...

If you ever have to strip wallpaper I can't recommend a steamer highly enough. It would have been a nightmare without one.

Mid wallpaper stripping we had a measure out where furniture was going to go. String on the floor might not be the most technical way but it was easy to do and gave us a good idea of what would fit...

With everything measured up we were able to get some furniture ordered. Sofas are being built and should be with us in September. On Monday a few boxes arrived which we will now need to move round the house as we decorate. Managed to get all the coving off before we took this picture....

The first major bit of work was done outside today. Before we moved in we decided that we were going to get the conifers completely removed. Got a great quote last week and the guys turned up today.

Here's the conifers before...

It didn't take the guys long to get stuck in...

This is the toy to have, a remote control tree stump grinder!...

All removed in one day. It looks a bit different now!...

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost to remove the trees? Need something similar doing here! Great improvements btw, looks completely different.

So after the trees it was time to concentrate on the inside again.

Last bedroom mid wall paper removal...

Onto some electrics now. Changed a single switch to a dimmer for the living room and 2 way switch for the landing light...

Floorboards up in two of the bedrooms...

Then screwed down again to stop any squeaks and creaks...

All that work leaves us with these in the living room...

Chiseling out the wall to make some new power and tv aerial sockets...

Wiring done and plastered over...

Boxes of furniture etc have started to arrive and we've got nowhere to put them all apart from the conservatory...

Living room getting prepped to be skimmed...

We decided to get the living room, staairs and landing skimmed which they have done over the last couple of days...

I'll keep the pics coming as we make more progress.

I'd have left the trees for the privacy.

Also love threads like these though, looking good inside

Good progress, should have used 20mm grommets in your socket back-boxes though mate.

Looking good though, will be keeping an eye on this thread!

removing those trees make a huge difference. i would've loved the privacy they gave from the neighbours but imagine how often you'd have to clean up the garden as shit always falls off those.

Those screw terminal junction boxes must be accessable under the new 17th edition regs. Means cant have floorboards or carpets over them...

thats the big problem with all the rules. How would anyone buying the house off you later on prove it was you and not the owner prior to you? (unless it used new colours)
