Speek to courtenay or regal about suspension upgrades.Your standard front ones wont cope with the extra weight. For brakes i would get some good 256mm (Tar.ox) discs ,Astra GSi calipers and pads.

Bollox, u shell needs no welding at all, only nova shells need seam welding

ull also need uprated brakes, either the 2.0 16v jobies from an astra/cav or u can buy some V6 ones from V-Tuning on mig web for £200

also need uprated suspension e.g. spax, avo

also need the gearbox, ecu and wiring loom that goes with the engine

and get a quote before u do the work on insurance to see if u can actualy afford it, and remember ur fuel bill will be higher

the only brakes u should be looking at are the astra gsi ones mate, they'll definately enough for what u need and they bolt straight on. get em from most decent breakers

my dad has a calibra ecotec 2.0 16v i think its 136bhp. hes gettion as good fuel consumption as me in my 1.2 16v and i dont drive like a nut. only thing would be i have a habit of holding the revs out in each gear to say 3000/4000 revs b4 changing up whereas he would change about 2000 rpm.

Havent read the whole thread but use liverpool vic for insurancem they will insure it as a standard car with engine mods (= about £10 increase) and the rest as above, no seam welding needed!

and petrol costs wont be that much as its just a 2L as in every other cav etc, just look at there fuel ecomony, not bad if u ask me....

wouldnt hestitate if i was u!
