Not for me but my old man, hes looking to get rid of his Vectra and Jag and spend about £7k buying a new car.

Basically he wants to combine the and Vectra into one car, so has to be a Saloon, luxurious, fairly quick and reliable, Oh and Petrol
He doesnt really know where to start but wants something with a fancy badge, and BMW and Mercedes come to mind.

Any Idea's?

If it helps, the Jag was a XJ8 4.0 V8, hes loves the power, look and comfort just its getting old and tired and ain't worth much.

And the Vectra is a 2002 1.8 Sxi, likes the new car feel and the fact he can trust it to take him anywhere in the country if he needs to, just the engine and spec lets it down alot.
