how much work is involed to put tbs on a 1.416v sport and what kinda price am i lookin at

Yep sure does.Your going to be looking at anywhere from £1700+ brand new.
Second hand £800+ but they very rarely come up For Sale second Hand

yeah seconds forghts might just get a new inlet manifold will be a whole lot cheaper cheers lads

Twin 40's will be cheaper and sound the same and will get the same power increase.

you will need a manifold at £100, the carbs will be £500 new or £250 second hand. And a few other bits at about £100. Tb's will be 3x the price. Keep your eye out for bits for 1400s on www.rallyusedparts.com.

ok cheers i asked a engine place bout them and they said something about my mileage clock not being used is this true?

Not sure what you mean. If it is a digital odometer then it may need a signal from the ecu but i doubt it, they are usually from a speed pulse from the gearbox. If it has a mechanical odometer then I don't know why they would tell you such lies. Carbs have nothing to do with your gearbox.

dappy people what other engine modifacations is ther i can do im on a tight budget i should of perhaps gota better exhaust too start off with

No point throwing thousands at a small engine when you can spend a grand on an xe conversion which is an instant 150bhp.

More power means more money. If you don't want to spend much, then you won't get much in return. It is a hard fact.
