No point throwing thousands at a small engine when you can spend a grand on an xe conversion which is an instant 150bhp.

More power means more money. If you don't want to spend much, then you won't get much in return. It is a hard fact.

dappy people what other engine modifacations is ther i can do im on a tight budget i should of perhaps gota better exhaust too start off with

Not sure what you mean. If it is a digital odometer then it may need a signal from the ecu but i doubt it, they are usually from a speed pulse from the gearbox. If it has a mechanical odometer then I don't know why they would tell you such lies. Carbs have nothing to do with your gearbox. :lol:

you will need a manifold at £100, the carbs will be £500 new or £250 second hand. And a few other bits at about £100. Tb's will be 3x the price. Keep your eye out for bits for 1400s on www.rallyusedparts.com.

Twin 40's will be cheaper and sound the same and will get the same power increase.
