Time for a new project folks.

After having to do a lot of welding when we built B9KOS back up i decided i wanted to build something a bit newer.
First choice was obviously a Focus but with so many conversions already complete and a fair few on the go
i decided it would be good to do something different. Mk6 Fiesta, Focus estate and even a Cougar were
considered before i decided on a Ka D: D:

The project has three main components:

1. One Ford Ka shell :?

2. One Cosworth YB

3. Someone to do the fabrication work

The problem off getting a suitable base vehicle was solved when i contacted MAD-EVO4 about his ex-track Ka that
he had started to break for spares to start a new project himself.

http://www.adrenaline-race.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=255&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

The plan is based on a completion date of July 2008 hopefully to allow it to 'debut' at either Ford Fair or National Day.

To start with we need to strip all the present running gear and remaining interior out and then transport the bare shell
to Adrenaline Race and Performance to let Danny do the required fab work to enable it to be rwd and YB powered.

Spec

Engine: Standard YB with T34 0.63, L8 with coilpacks, Swedish style plenum and a set of 55lb Siemens injectors.

Gearbox: T5 then hopefully a sequential Mullet rwd

Front Suspension: Adjustable TCAs, Compression struts etc

Rear Suspension: WRC cradle/lateral links set up to enable the rear track to be made to fit the 'Ford Racing' arches.

Brakes: Floor mounted pedal box, APs and vertical hydraulic handbrake.

Central Day 2009 Update

After speaking to Neil @ Fastford and with Adrenaline being only 6 miles away, it was decided to display the Ka at Santa Pod to show people where the project was and let them see it up close.

So as usual the alarm clock went off at 0330 A quick 40 mile drive in the trusty vectra to meet my mate at Exeter and then we continued on in his Thurlby 888 Astra CDTi. Got to Adrenaline about 0730 and loaded the Ka onto the trailer. Due to being let down by the rose joint supplier Danny was unable to get the rear end finished in time :wall: :wall:

Arrived at Santa Pod about 0830 and off loaded car at Fastford stand. Placed it next to new Focus RS.

Danny and the boys have done a lot more work since the last update    but there’s still more to do

Safety Cage progressing well and tied into diff carrier mountings and strut tops

AiM dash display mounted in the MK6 Fiesta dash which fitted with very little hassle.

How about 18’ MOs D: D:

Had a good day and met up with the usual crowd and loads of new peeps. :top: :top:

Cheers to Neil and Dan for having an unfinished project on the stand :king: :king: :king:

Thanks to everyone who said hello. :top: :top:

I even enjoyed the drag action and was good to see Wenny, Paul R and AJC running. Pity Wenny couldn’t squeeze into the 10s

Left Danny’s about 1800 after dropping Ka back, and finally got home about 2245

My quote of the day came from the Ford employee who drove the Focus RS there when i asked him about the Ka arches as they are only held on with plastic clips :? :?

Richie: Do you know what speed these arches have been tested to ?
Ford bloke: How fast do you want to go ?
Richie: Look in the front
Ford bloke: Fuckin hell !!! (Shaking his head)

P2KKA? or the one that ended up in millions of bits in the central reservation somewhere?

Unless I'm mistaken, there was a nicer one than P2KKA (imo) without the Morettes and other bits. I remember seeing photos of it being built in some guys back garden! It was light blue and had retrimmed ERST seats and steering wheel etc.

There was a black one local that had an ERST lump, fairly nippy tbh but spent more time in bits than on the road

What a project! I like! KA's can actually look kind of cool if done right - good sleeper with the right engine too!
