not a lot to power a car that weighs about 2 ton

but I've been told they'll nicely cruise at 60mph on the motorway

I've just edited my previos post........brakes!

when you press the peddle, rods move under the car and apply the brakes

forgot to mention earlier......

it will be free road tax and the insurance is £198 fully comp which is a third of what I pay on the corsa......limited to 4500 mile though.

I've also been told it'll only do about 20 mpg, which I don't think is too bad for a 2 ton car

My uncle's got an Alvis in the garage, different model to yours though.

Are they actually worth anything to sell? His is almost mint, runs fine...

tbh I'd rather he got rid of it so I could get a project car in there instead

pre-war ones are worth a lot of money........post-war aren't too bad either, when I got this one I was offered £12k as it was (in the first pic on pg1)
but I've always wanted an old car......so won't be selling

if anyones interested in prices have a look here....

p.s......thanks for the comments everyone

edit.....a few of you won't realise that in their day Alvis cars were on a par with rolls royce, bentley and lagonda and they raced quite successfully at lemans before world war 2......they were also the first car manufacturer to put front wheel drive cars in to production!
