Its kind of a bid me up to make it worth my while situation
I'm not a mechanic by trade but what I do for a living pays me quite well so you have to entice me out to my cold workshop with cash

Nope.. £500 just for the labour. That includes fabricating brackets up for everything.. The car will leave me looking like its factory fit. I even jetwash the engine bay

Its difficult for me to say because I get them for silly money if I remove them myself. A good mate of mine is in the scrap trade.

The going rate for a X18XE1 + ancilaries + loom/ecu/transponder/chip is about £300-400 depending on mileage.

This was a special case because the person who I'm doing the conversion for is a close friend and they run TheTigraClub, I sold them the Car + Engine cost price.. Which was £350 for the car and £50 for the engine.. So basically they have paid £900 for a One previous owner, 1.8 W reg Tigra with 70k on the clock.

Isnt it better just to fit a redtop tho, surely more bhp? or is because the 1.8s are different and newer?

IMHO the power/torque delivery on the 1.8 is better suited to the Corsa, Its a long stroke engine so its very torquey... Out of the box it creates a quick corsa but its also got loads of potential..

WarrenG has almost finished an ITB 1.8 and I'm currently building one too

Although mine produced 135 lb/ft at TOTD when it was standard
