So why didnt you get Davey to do it??????Is yours running yet??Its been away for all the time and within a day Davey has converted a tigra.

Surely it would have made more sense to get him to do it.Unless he charges too much.

Retard.

Why would it make more sense to get someone else to do it? He will now know where everything is and it will help alot if and when anything goes wrong with it, I'd rather have a bash at it myself and learn as I go than pay someone £500 to do it...

With it being NA it will offer drivability compared to a LET and is quite a tunable lump.

By no means will it be a track car with a dormer on the back of it but I think it will be quite a nice car to drive and with it being a newer lump all the sensors etc will be less prone to failing

Cheers

Does anyone have a shot of their 1.4/1.6 16v (non aircon model) from the side so I can see how the aux belt goes? This is an A/C model but I want to drop the A/c so I need to see if a different mount/tensioner is used.

I dont havePAS or A/C so I'm using a MK4 astra tensioner.. This car has PAS.

Cheers!

I wish i did get warren or dave to do it, i really do, but you live and you learn dont you. i never discussed prices with dave. trailering the car plus cost of the conversion would have cost too much.

well the crank shaft sensor bracket has been replaced thanks to davey lending me some bits

while my local mechanic was fitting the new bracket/oil pump he noticed and showed me wires that were bare on the cam sensor, hes adamant its that because when he put it all back together it ran properly untill it wrmed up and it bogged down again.

i then took the car out for a drive, and while i was out on a drive the ecu light came off and it was running perfect for about 5 minutes. just need a cam sensor now

Awesome work Davey, looks as it should out of the factory. I've driven Davey's 1.8 b and its a brilliant tool to drive. Hate no power steering tho ha ha but its definately a reliable, cost affective conversion to consider.
Z20LET b next Davey fingers crossed

Nice.

We need people like Lee, and yourself to carry on and find the upgrades that many are to afraid to attempt.

I can see this engine being more popular as more interest is shown in it. If the interest is there, tuning parts will become available.

needs the interest though.

Weight of a small block, and good torque/power (arn't these alloy heads?).

Davey, next time you've got engines, weigh an X16, Z/X18, and C20ZXE (with gearbox) and finally shut everyone up about engine weights n such
