I thought his whole review was quite disapointing... Watch the auto car one.
Have you got a link
I think we should ignore the 0-60 time as that isnt its strong point. From what he is saying once its in gear its quick. Well it should be with that power and torque
Drives supercharged Tec with torque

Blukoo could tell you the link ... just google 'Focus Rs Auto car' I'm sure you'll get something.
0-60 isn't anything to base an opinion on a FWD car... RWD or 4WD will always launch better off the line, but once moving it all becomes equal... 0 - 100 would probably be a better comparison.

As interesting as that sounds to us, most of the license paying public would see that as a bit max power & thats why it would never become a reality! You need something that everyone can watch enjoy & understand the wife & kids included!
Since when does the license payer pay for channel 5?
Does the TV license not pay for all council TV
Anyway if wrong exchange license payers with viewing public.
Being high on techy details narrows the target audience.

Don't be so harsh on yourself dude!
After seeing it in action are you swaying more towards one? Or are you still up in the air about what you want next?

Yeh I agree with you Colin, I know why these programs are like how they are... I just wish it wasn't the case and there was one that covered the niche market

Still up in the air atm, which isnt a bad thing as im clocking up more savings month by month. I had a bad experience enquiring about RS's a few weeks back. Might try again at another dealers but I think if I order now its going to be lucky to be ready for 59 plate delivery nevermind 09. M3's still on my mind, I went to look at one at the weekend & missed ut on it. Feck knows where I go from here.

For those who were a bit shocked about the 5.9 0-60 time for the RS, you should know that several people (on the FRSOC) have talked to Jost Capito about the performance times, and he stated that 5.9 would be easily achievable and worst case scenario.
Ford obviously don't want to say the car will do it in 5.3 seconds, and then some poor new RS owner finds out that he can't achieve the quoted figure.
Also, as far as i'm aware, the car is limited in 1 gear, so it will be much better accelerating through the gears.
An estimated 1/4 mile time of 13.7 seconds puts it somewhere in the league of a Honda NSX. Not too shabby for a front wheel drive car.

Paul, you're in the minority wanting a project-based programme.
The "...is born" series on Discovery was exactly that and never made it into primetime. Reading Clarkson's latest book he echoes what people have said earlier. Peoplewho want to know facts and figures will go on the internet or buy a magazine, so Top Gear is intended to be entertaining.
That's why it's so popular.

astra GTE lets us down
that RST looked lower than usual.
The one thing that utterly pisses me off about 5th gear is the non-car related scenes, like tiff in the aeroplane

I've yet to see one in the flesh so to speak, but i've been told they look better in reality.
I have seen a couple of pictures and video clips where it looks very odd, but i'm sure its quite nice in the metal.

I dont think you can really say the RS is any 'worse' on looks than the VXR or that renault thing.
I like its styling, only the bits under the headlights that dont quite do it for me!!

I like it's styling it reminds me of the WRC focus. I just think standard wheels look crap.
