ultrasonic injector cleaning

reckon this is any good, i think 15% power loss claims are a bit OTT but would ot be worth it?

is that per injector?

technically if your injectors arent flowing correctly or the correct spray pattern then without a doubt 15% loss is easily correct. if not more in some cases.

that will be for each injector..

sean i wouldnt bother with that place..

im sending some injectors off soon to be done, costs around £45/50..

my mate had his escort cosworth ones done there (where im having mine done) and it runs alot better tbh..

and as said by nic, i wouldnt be suprised if it loses more then 15% performance..

where do you send them off to? I've got a feeling this could be an issue with my 106, there's a slight noticable mis fire too.

If your injectors were that clogged you'd be getting EML and lean mixture problems ..

Yes. Well, for example if you're doing a re-build on an engine then you may as well get the injectors cleaned too.

I only ask because my car is over 90k now, doesnt seem to pull/economise well as it used to.

Dad's Audi, when it had it's 130k service, they cleaned the injectors for him?

Both VAG TDi's btw

I think the ultrasonic cleaning is abit ott. I would just take them out, pour thinners through them or let them sit and put them back after blowing them out with a airline.

And just pour some system cleaner through.

sorry mate but thats utter shite..

pouring thinners through and an airline compared to being ultrasonicly cleaned

send them to this place..

http://www.injectorcleaning.co.uk/

works out at around £45/50 for normal top fueled injectors..

Fair enough. I would just bang some sort of injector cleanor through it, with the higher octance diesel and give it a good drive.

I remeber the first time did this to my dads car. It was only 4 years old at the time, but it use to have a shit hesistance at like 3.5k and be loud as fook. Banged some cleaner and v power through it, went on the motorway and it were sound as fook!

No need to get personnal mate. Mk4boy is right. It's the fact that they pulse them whilst being cleaned. Where's yur thnners would just sit in the top of the injector

what does it have to do with the engine size, all engines have the same principle..

my mates escort cosworth was using abit of fuel (more then it should) and smelt a touch of fuel in the engine bay..

send them off, fuel smell has gone, does a few more mpg, and runs smoother..

if thats not worth the small cost then i dont know what is..

and as sean said, yer an airline will blow thr shit out of the injector but how is that testing it so each injector is pulsing the same amount of fuel at the same time and the spray pattern..

also they replace the seals etc at the place ive stated..
