Mine did all that for a couple of hours and then all of a sudden started working again. I tried DVD's a games, just said unreadable. Then I tried a music cd and it worked, so tried a DVD and that worked then did a game. Kinda weird.
And yes, you'll have to pay £60 iirc.

I told the truth so neeer
Also, if you send it saying ur got RROD, I duno if they check or not before they fix but you might have problems when they notice you don't have RROD. Could be wrong though, depends on them checking it first or not.

mine was having problems with disk read errors sent it in saying RROD but put in the comments box that it keeps getting red ring and then working again but at the time of sending it had red ring, they sent me a new xbox and mine was out of warranty by a good year.

did it all on the miscrosft website btw only took around 10 days in all.

PS: worst that could happen is they will send it back no loss

SSJ gave the best solution, just BS RROD and try and get another one, if you send it in saying disc read failure they will just charge you for a new drive

But what if the drive is fucked and they only replace the m/board to fix the RROD? Ya still gotta unusable console then.

They don't repair it there and then, they put it in a warehouse and fix it later. You just get a fixed console sent back to you instead (unless they've changed it now)

And even if they did send it back with a broken drive, whos to say it was working when it was sent out? You could just ring up and say 'The RROD is fixed but you have sent me a console with no working disc drive'

Yeah but it'd be a pain in the arse and alot more hassle would it not?

Ren : I thought they changed it where they send you the same console back. I could be wrong though.
