Right, I can't quite beilive this, but my turbo has gone on my 55 plate 1.3 CDTi corsa C, with only 47k on the clock.

I took it into CMS (Vauxhall in Kidderminster) because of a stupid amount of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust when in boost.

So they rang me up to tell me my turbo has gone and it'll be £650 to replace They also said they have NEVER heard of a turbo going on a 1.3 CDTi before, epesically with the miles that are on it.

So, with the other things that have gone wrong with it (new flywheel, EGR valve, and the heaters fucking up) i'm starting to think its been clocked and never been looked after

Anywho, whats the average life and mileage of a turbo?

Can be any age/mileage. They can fail early.

Just think all that money you have saved in fuel will now be spent on a new Turbo

I'm not paying it. I'm kicking up a fuss at Bridge Vauxhall, where I bought it from.

Yes. But the turbo isn't covered. The next level of warrenty covers the turbo, but they failed to ask what level of warrenty I want. I'm taking legal advice.

But if you signed accepting that level of warranty then that could be your problem? Its your job to check all the paperwork is ok before you sign.

I can see them getting out of it.

find someone breaking one? buy a second hand turbo?

cant be that hard to find one surely

as for the warranty, if its anything like a fiat warranty it takes a step down in the 3rd year..

its a mass produced cheap car, some will go wrong. Its harsh but true.

If you didnt take the warrenty you wont have much of a leg to stand on unless the garage are very nice to you

I did, but the next level of warrenty after mine covers the turbo, but they never asked me if I want that warrenty. I know I can't do anything, it's my mom, she goes mad with stuff like this.
