right my timing chain has been loud for a while now and with hope for a new engine i decided not to fix it and save up for a conversion instead.

yesterday i got in the car after work and this noise started. i know its the first its happened because i would have noticed it with how loud it is i checked the oil and there's enough in it so lack of oil isnt making it loud

my local mechanic says he cant do it because you need a tool to lock everything.

what i need to know is, isit a engine out job, and will the chain ever snap??? and roughly how much will it be to get it fixed??

to end my luck the afm's kaned as well

Timing chain replacement isnt an engine out job

Any garage should be able to replace a chain, especially on a piddly corsa 1.0 engine

I was going to say, your prices have gone up

That doesn't sound healthy at all - certainly not the normal cam chain rattle.
