Plus not all SXI's come with Aircon, whereas its standard on the Design. SXI is the 'sporty' version.

i had a 1,3cdti on an 04 plate brand new, swopped the ic for a vectra cdti one, and had the ecu reprogrammed at work.

made iirc 124bhp and silly torque, but then i sold it, and the next driver left it parked up somewhere for ages and it got trashed.

124BHP?! lol thats mint. Was yours red? I have vague memories of you having one years back.

I would quite happily spend a few quid to get it to 120BHP haha

Loads cheaper than 1.7 CDTI varients... a design model would be fine with the newerish SRi seats

It does actually, it lags like the fat kid on the school cross country. If you keep it on boost it isn't too bad.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

LOL at 1.3 CDTi turbo lag.. Jesus christ its a tiny engine with a tiny turbo, it has next to no lag, what people will be moaning at is the turbo not spooling at 1000rpm. Learn to drive and its like any other diesel..

lol

So is 100BHP easily attainable then people? any recommendations for places who do remaps or is it a tuning box kinda engine? I think I read you can't remap the 1.7 CDTI's somewhere thus have to use a tuning box? But the 1.3's Fiat derived in retrospect aint it? So bound to be different

Are they actually reliable engines/cars in general?

its a beter car than the 1.3. but twise the price is not that good. mine makes 115bhp and 224lbs ft of torque. am sure it could be made alot higher if i could up the boost as tuneing boxes dont do anything to boost. pulls very nicely in a not exactly heavy car.

i remeber when i drove my friends (being you chavs) doing 90 with a full car on the motorway - put your foot dowm to the floor and it was like it wasnt connected - didnt make a hint of acceleration or noise for that matter

They are brilliant up to 50 mph tho if you drive it properly!

I would have one now tbh

1.7 SRi's are getting much much cheaper. A good one with average miles is £5k.

1.3's at SXi+ spec are this price.

Yeah, 40k - 50k really. I've been looking at cars I'd like and always put mileage lower than 60k. Loads of SRi's come up
