Will a 1.4 carb off a z14se engine fit on the z12se?

trying to get more power for small costs.

why not try a bigger throttle body or taper port the standard one that is already on the engine

In what way do u want more power??
You may be able to squeeze 2bhp out of it with useless mods but at the end of the day, your only going to notice it on the dyno and not the road.

How is this not then??

The small engines were never designed to be made faster with these stupid bolt on mods. Why do u think tuning companys dont waste theyr time with performance parts and all this porting and matching the inlet and outlet??

Do u read magazines and see bits that add a claimed 5bhp and so on and think "oh yes,i'll be having 1 of those".

Well it shows if all the time wasted had been worthwhile.U certainly wouldnt notice an extra 10bhp on the road. And im being generous giving those silly mods 10bhp.

all these wee silly mods made my astra go from doing 60 mph flat out to a 128 mph on the speedo and no the speedo is not over reading by 68 mph,
right on the dyno there is no air flow over the car like on the road so if your 1400 did 120 mph on the dyno then it would be less mph on the road due to the wind resistance
hitting the front of the car

on the dyno is there 100 mph wind resistance hitting the front of the car eer no there is not, like thorney motor sport said they needed 4, 1 metre diameter fans to replicate air flow over the car on the dyno to simulate on the road conditions

I aint talking about the difference between a dyno and the road.Im saying that with any engine wether it be big or small,u aint going to notice 10bhp on the road. However u will on a dyno. But thats useless.

How do u know your mods have worked??

this is what thorney motor sport said
To give an accurate reading of what the car is doing on a dyno you need to generate a large airflow to replicate as near as possible the conditions on the open road. To this end we have installed the highest airflow dyno cell in the UK. Four one metre radial fans generate a combined airflow of over 120,000cfm (cubic feet per minute).

simple first got car it only did 60 mph on the speedo then with all the mods apart from ported and polished it did 128 mph on the speedo

Four one metre radial fans generate a combined airflow of over 120,000cfm (cubic feet per minute). it is this air pressure that is going into my air box

Well if it only did 60mph in "standard" form, then its pretty obvious something wasnt right with it.And by fiddling about with all the shite u have done, youve clearly cleaned something or other and its sorted it.Your mods havnt made a difference, sorting something by accident has.

I had a 1.4 spi astra that done 120mph on the clock. In the real world it was doing 95mph lol.My mate had a 1.4 mk2 astra that touched nearly 140.Speedo was way out.U do know that speedos overread more the faster u are going.

And then 60,000 cfm going into the carb after the intake pipe

Your mods havnt made a difference, sorting something by accident has. no,
right bigger throttle body 44 mm inside diameter and taper ported to 49mm and the top of the throttle where injector sits ported and flowed /
inlet manifold ported and port matched/ same with exhaust manifold/ ported and tuned airbox and pressure fed = 120,000cfm (cubic feet per minute). it is this air pressure that is going into my air box /adjustable tps/fpr/ bigger injector when needed/ adjusted timing to match set up/ bigger inside diameter exhaust along its length/ bigger inlet and out let pipes on the cat converter/ bigger ht coil not the standard small one/ up rated leads and plugs
I had a 1.4 spi astra that done 120mph on the clock = 110 mph
