Just need to clear something up quick for the missus.

If someone claims off you but you aren't claiming for yourself, do you need to still pay an excess?

I'm 99.9% sure you don't, and that you only pay an excess if you claim for your own car.

If the accident is your fault, you pay the excess.

Even if you yourself aren't claiming for damages to your car?

The scenario is.

Car A door swung open in the wind and dented Car B, which is parked next to it. Car A has no damage and will not be claiming.

Car B has small dent, and is claiming off Car A.

Car B claims of Car A's insurance. Car B pays no excess because it wasn't their fault.

Does Car A pay an excess?

Yes, as it was their fault Deano.

Thats where excess charges come in with a TPFT policy as well, if you write off your own car in an accident with another car, which was your fault, you don't get a penny but you pay the excess.
