Thhis is a pic of the Canal near me, takin with a Fuji S9600 which is basically a 10 mega pixel version of mine, I couldnt get a pic to look like that in a million years!

what has he done in PS to it?

id say its just saturated a bit on the left hand side and blended in really well.

how do you do HDR though, what do you adjust?

exposure settings, either with a multiple exposures or editing a single raw file and manually adjusting them usually in steps +2 +4 +6, -2 -4 -6 from perfect exposure.

you then use photomatrix or photoshop to do it.

True HDR requies 9-11 seperate exposures to capture every last ounce of detail in the shadows and highlights. RAW only give you 2 stops either way which isn't really enough but can look pleasing.

yeah,also true HDR is 32bit but most monitors dont support 32bit.

What do you mean exposing by +2 +4 +6 -2 -4 -6 ? how do I know where actual 0 is and where +6 / -6 is (and the exposures in between?

anything I find on google is very vague
