South Central Region PVS Convoy 2008

I’ve nominated myself as the South Central Region’s PVS convoy coordinator for the second year running
As shown here I have collected details, ideas, thougths and comments for 2008's convoy.

From this I have drawn draw up a route through the South Central Region (SCR) to allow everyone to be picked up along the way within reasonable means…..some travelling should be expected to your nearest RV point. There is a chance that you will have to travel some distance first so please appreciate for time, fuel and practical reasons we can’t pick everyone up within 3miles of their front door!

Below is the convoy route as it stands - subject to change if required

NB this is the Sunday 8th June morning convoy with an ETA at Santa Pod for the gate opening at 0700 to allow those wishing to show their cars on the CS stand to do so!

**RV details now fixed as of 2-6-08**
(all times are GMT+1)

Meet A -Guildford Ladymead Retail Park (SC regular meet location)
Post Code: Woodbrifge Road, GU1 1AJ
Arrive: 0415
Depart: 0425

Meet B - Slough (industrial estate)
Post Code: Newlands Drive, SL3 0DX
Arrive: 0450
Depart: 0500

Meet CHemel Hempstead hotel/office car park off roundabout
Post Code: Green lane HP2 4RZ
Arrive: 0525
Depart: 0535

Meet D Bedford BP Station A6/A421 junction
Post Code:A6/A421 interchange junction MK42 9BF
Arrive 0615
Depart 0625

Meet ESanta Pod
Post Code: Airfield Road, NN29 7XA
Arrive 0700
Those drivers who will be parking their cars on the stand please read **THIS**

These timings based on a 0700 []gate opening, each RV point has a 10min worked in delay to allow for any late arrival & welcoming people to the convoy

Note that Meet D is at Bedford services, where a BP is located. It was used last year as a toilet and refreshment stop and is well worth remembering before arrival on site with inflated prices
Any drivers from East Anglia Region will also be meeting you here, check this thread to see who is likely to be joining you!

Drivers

Meet A - Rich H, DMRrhythmRW, Neil Dagens

Meet B - jahunt, pip308

Meet C - drbeansri, Corsa_phi, aron, davcohen, Stavs

Meet D - deano87+Lilly, lil_g*+ Liz + Friend, Corsa_Joel*, Simon_16v*, 1ROSS8*, Planty02

Meet E - Santa Pod/CS Stand

*these drivers will have their own mini convoy from Luton to Meet D

Please note anyone wishing to join this convoy who does not show interest drivers will not be held responsible if you miss the convoy. Once all the confirmed drivers are assembled drivers are free to depart and this maybe before the stated departure time and so you may miss out! show your interest if its not noted already now!!

edit: this route is only a suggestion, the map shows the route skirts around Luton and to Bedford via the Motorway, i personally would suggest the A6 from Luton!

an I make a suggestion for a change?

Although it may be slightly quicker, going the M1 way may be a mistake, as you go out your way somewhat to get to the RV D at the BP garage. If you go into Luton and up the A6, you'll literally come out at the petrol station.

Just a thought, but it might be more lengthy time wise than the M1.

No I couldn't I'll be at Lily's. She lives in Cardington, less than 5 minutes from the BP garage we'll be going straight up the A6 to Santa Pod

And just to let people know, where the BP garage is, there is also a Holiday Inn Express thing. Leaving there about 6:25, so get up at 6am. Good nights sleep and not such an early start for people in the lower parts of SC i.e. the south coast etc.

I'm 99.9% sure that at the Santa Pod entrance I saw an banner stating discounted rates for people attending shows at Santa Pod.
