How can you tell if a Redtop is a early one or late one?(Coil Pack or Disbributor)

one has a dissy cap, other has a coil pack..

Early = Dizzy
Late = Coilpack

Well i think its a coil pack one but im not sure as i lost the coil pack when i took it off.If it is a coil pack that means its a late one yer?

The cam belts are also different with different pulleys, the coscast heads are stamped with 2AH

both have their better point etc...


stonger block on late
stronger crank on early
better managment on late
better pully setup on early (metal pully's as apposed to plastic)

Well looking at the pics mines a early.But b3kan says early=Dizzy and late=Coilpack.When i took the engine out of a calibra it had a coilpack.So can you have a early C20XE with a coilpack?
