That's true, but if they then refused to pay out then you would be thoroughly gutted and unless you had lots of money saved away to pay for a new car and the insurance, then you'd be without one for a while.

I'd rather know that they were covered and not risk it

Stop smapping hs thread, idiot.

Insurance IMO wouldnt bat an eyelid at some Sport alloys or something on the car.

Looks nice, just keep it clean and add things to it slowly. Have a peek in my garage at my Arden Blue beast (I miss her).

dnt call me a prick, u dnt know me, you werent involved, and there was no need for it..OK?
they only asked some thing about insurance with wheels, its up to what they do it about, and and vauxhall alloys will effect it, the car has to meet manufacture spec, and if the car didnt come out of production with alloys or anything else like it then insurance wont pay out for it..but if you dnt mind changing insurance companys i know that quinn dont bump your insurance up because of your alloys etc

I'm not too fond of the trims (they do look pretty dated ) but if I can get hold of some reasonably priced alloys (either Corsa C SRi ones or Softstars) and the insurance is ok with it then the trims might as well stay for now.

Cheers pow, I like yours, the first pic in your garage is brilliant

Cheers Scotty, I'll have to ring them and ask, if that is the case then 16" softstars here I come

Do Quin do special modified car insurance though, I never heard of them before I came here, maybe that's why it didn't affect it, I don't know. I don't know what Lloyds TSB's policy is on mods, but it's probably the same as whatever Churchill's is.

I'm going to give the insurance a ring tomorrow as long as I don't get back from work too late, and I have to ring the bike insurance about something too.

Hopefully they'll say "Yup, alloys are no problem" because I think I like Softstars way too much

After that it's just the colour coding of bumpers and arches Probably not for a couple of months though.

This thread needs a bit of an update

Well since July I've:

Bought Softstars

Went to Trax

Had it on a rolling road

Took the side bit off the airbox

Went to a meet

[img]http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/7764/DSCF0127.jpg/img]

Damaged one of wheels (will be getting repaired soon, can't see it too great in the pic but it's dented)

Had the axle replaced

Before:

The replacement (scrap yard special)

Put the steelies back on

Went to another meet

Had a big arch gap

Got rid of the arch gap

Took some pictures

Went to another meet

And here we are

Pics of the suspension change:

Not my arms btw That's my mate

The end

For now

Well then, where do I start

I decided that the Spax kit was not great on comfort and a bit past its sell by date, so got a brand new Apex -60mm kit

Which lowered it as such (bearing in mind there's a wheel in the boot):

Then PVS came:

Another meet after someone decided to relieve me of a pesky arch trim:

A new sticker :

Exhaust reducer FINALLY made to fit

Basically I had to cut one half of it off and then it fit perfectly:

Night time pics:

Then the wheel finally got refurbed in August so that got put back on after a trip all the way up to Swindon and back which took far longer than it should have, partially because of traffic, and partially because I somehow went straight past the junction that I wanted on the motorway and had to go up to the next one and turn round

And then a field:

Then our very own Rich H came over and did his thing:

And to compliment the sparklingly clean car, I got a new numberplate light lens from Vaux themselves for around about £2.50:

And then I bonded the spoiler on with tiger Seal, which had wanted doing for a long time:

Which now adorns the rear of the car like so:

No proper pics since Rich has been here yet, but I'm sure there will be some eventually

Cheers guys, not quite the route I initially intended to go down with the car, but I'm happy with it anyway

I don't really know why but I kind of like the badges a bit Plus barely any cars on here have badges And I like my stickers Although they will come off before I sell it.
