standard management copes with a powerbox nicely
cant deal with throttle bodies, it will run, yes, but will drink petrol, run lean unless you up the fuel pressure
and prob be no faster than a powerboxed one,
needs aftermarket management to run to full power of what these engines are capable of

how long did it take you to fit?

fitted them while the engine was out
but have fitted them before on a 1600 in place, was an arse to say the least, getting to all those inlet manifold bolts, get about 1/4 of a turn a time, plus if the inlet manifold gasket sticks, like they do, then takes even longer

I fitted linch's dbilsa TB's
budget at least a full day if you know what you are doing. you will need to make an alternator lowering bracket for them to fit properly. As warren said you will need aftermarket managment to get anything from them.

so do they run like shit with no propper management or just you dont see the full potential gains?

depends
i ran mine with a map sensored ecu and it ran shite, bodged down, would rev, but when it went it went well!!!
had two people with is and there cars were camd, which seems to casue this, as linch doesnt have this problem
im running a air flow meter, eml comes on everytime you floor it, can floor it be low 3000, and need to run 4 bar fp to get low down performance and top end
and get 24mpg

mine isnt camed so that is good news.
other than that im very confused, mite just buy them and sell them on in a bit. dont like the idea of lowering the alternator either,
Any sugestions on what to do?

there should be a bracket that comes with it
not that hard to do when the inlet manifold is off

dont get me wrong
it will run fine (should do) as it was designed, plus you can remove that induction chamber and listen to the noise, so soooo loud
but aftermarket management for real gains, and will need to rev alot higher too

right, thanks guys. So if i was to just fit them and that was all it will run fine? not gunna melt a piston or blow something up half way to PVS or on the strip?
I love it when you buy something on a whim.

it will run fine, as there designed to run on standard management
which they do, but as said, not ideal
