was just thinking, how is it that a real sat nav and one on your phone work in different ways?

what i mean is buy a sat nav unit, chuck it on, its free to use, job done

with a phone the data usage is over your phones network right? meaning it could cost loads if youre on a bad data package...

whhhy. or am i being stupid?

maps are encoded making them smaller in size, use free gps for locations. real time info and not preprogrammed on memory card. real time updates.

ours is 5pmonth, kicks arse over any satnav product.

not sure what you mean, you can use satnav on a phone without using any data usage if you dont require traffic info etc

Buy a Symbian phone (N73, 6680, N95 etc etc)

Buy a GPS unit for around £40

Buy a Phone holder

Buy a 1GB card

Get tomtom 5.0 or 6.0 and maps

PM me for more information on this...I can supply no problem!
